Objects like the hastily written directions to places youve never known the address to. Pictures of him or her surrounded by strangers that other people took with cheap disposable cameras

Feelings, like the ones only your parents can imbue in you, the ones you can never wipe away or stop from entering your dreams no matter how far away youve moved. Feelings like the vague affection you used to be filled with for someone who you dont think about anymore.

Ideas, like the silly ones you used to invent with your sister on late nights you snuck into each others rooms just to spend it by not laughing too loudly. Ideas like the original ones you got watching the other people on the train and meant to write down, but forgot to. Ideas you spoke in depth about with lovers at 4am in the half dark; electrifying ideas that helped you love yourself or love them, or someone else.

Light, like those good memories that can fill you up when youre alone and wish you werent. Like what happens when you realize someone youve lost touch with a long time ago still talks to you when you let your mind wander. Like the small fire you keep tending inside you, waiting for someone to take notice of. Like the kind that kept you smiling even when it was the worst day of your life. Like the kind that turned rented locations into homes you kept wanting to return to.
