New Year - New Me?
The New Year's resolution thing is a bit overdone and, for the most part, a cliche. But events over the past few months had me holed away, isolated, working on ways that I could change my life, for the better, this coming year. I have the ideas, but need the support.
Everybody has wants and dreams and needs, but it's often hard to get started without the support that some people take for granted. Others don't need it, or don't think they need it. There are a few people out there with other issues, a bit below the surface, that do their damnedest to hold a person back, regardless of how hard that person wants and tries to change.
This doesn't apply to those of you out there who don't understand why the "smile and get over it" answer to depression doesn't work. For those of you who are legitimately depressed, and acknowledge that, yes, it is a chemical issue and no, none of us wants to be in this position - what do you do for support? Who do you look to, or do you keep it in and, by doing so, find yourself losing ground, while you work to chase those dreams?
I would love a little help because I don't have the support of anybody who understands the ailment and I'm not going to let another year go by without taking those forward steps - and continuing forward. Drop me a line if you'd like to talk.
