.funny fact: I am typing this email from the TVNZ building in Auckland in the comfort of a back massaging pad laden chair in a fully equipped Avid edit suite, there are three flat screens here to drag onto, its a surreal dream.why am I here you may be asking yourself.well me and my friend Chris are in full creative mode at the moment and are assembling a film for a short film competition held here in the big smoke..its been a weird week I assure you: the basic premise of the competition is that you have to include three places from Auckland in your narrative and the target audience is family orientedquite a challenge from my normal dark odysseysbut it has been all fun and games once we finally got off the ground.we planned this quite elaborate image driven dreamy narrative, but got totally flipped the bird by the gods in the heavens and were presented with a big grey hazy vacuum and accompanying rain..so we are now making a short titled Roshanne the Friendly Witch.about, well a nice witch and a day in her life..magic, foiling a prison break , changing the weather, flying and much more..maybe youll get to see it if it comes to hearty fruitionit is looking very hopeful at the moment...so much fun, i LOVE film-making ...this suite is really quite a trip, while we are rendering all our be-witching effects I have time to make like a ninja a play with photoshop, tonight starring the delectable Angelina Jolie



....my body clock is freaking out a little though, we make like creatures of the night and work from about 7pm through to 5am, I love it, total serenity and displacement from the hustle and bustle of normal working hours.I could really handle a job like this..its so cool hurtling down the snake of a motorway, cigarette dangling from my lips, radio cranked right up, bass pulsating through the car, solitude on the normally frenetically busy roads, the sky morphing from the all encompassing mystery of the night into the beautiful halo filter effect of the dawning of another beautiful day..drinking a hearty hot chocolate, unwinding like an elaborate coil of silver and descending into an album, letting my mind make like a kite and fly around the room, closing my eyes and drifting into a marvellous early-morning slumber, all warm, happy and comfortable.and the dreams the early morning seems to produce.vast adventures in the oneiric realms all bathed in glorious Technicolour.....

...one problem of a dude who is on the artist benefit placed in big smoke. long spidery fingers reaching into my pockets slowly eroding my seemingly constant depleting money supplyI dont like the traffic, I try to avoid, although the girl that works at Illicit HQ is the hotness, so I like to go trip out on Misery in there...heh..misery is so cool!...im seriously considering getting a mark ryden/ misery themed tattoo that will turn into a breathing entity on my arm heh, a waterfall of intertwining psychedelic colours. yeah thatd rock....my grandma gave me money to get a tatt as a 21st birthday present...groovy nana eh? lol....yet i wanna make the coolest possible choice before i get the ink done

I am fully being taken away by the new Mars Volta albumand I cant get over how cool the album title is.Frances the Mute, I so want to make a t-shirt with that onactually I am going to do just that. It is a demented, twisted musical odyssey that is truly ear-bleedingly astonishing!... crossing my fingers that they tour here very soon!..that'd be frantic maniacal fun indeed..when I saw them at the Big Day Out in 2004 they totally restored my faith ten-fold in the inventiveness of rock nrollahh


anyway back to editing, this machine renders like a motherfucker, its great
