"If being sane is thinking there's something wrong with being different...I'd rather be completely fucking mental."
-ANGELINA JOLIE

..i love that quotewell its been a while since I have updatedbeen quite a whirlwind of activity in my world as of late..were to start.

I have been working againits been such a long time since I have had a joband its back to my old one, only because my old man owns the businessbasically I now spend 30hours of my already busy week making like Dante from Clerksserving sometimes irate and offbeat customers in a convenience storeits boring and dull, especially since I have an honours dregree in film!...however because I agree to it I try see the bright side of everything and to make the time go as fast as possible...this includes

..listening to my cd-man whilst I make all the shelves look pretty
..daydreaminga lot..wandering off in my mind and writing down ideas of any tangent
..writing..
..composing silly lists of top albums, songs, movies etc
..juggling cans of mushrooms..they are the perfect size for my hands if I forget my juggling balls..
..reading a vast assortment of cheesy magazines..
..smoking Lucky Strikes out the back

..yeahso why am I subjecting myself to corporate time-suckage?...because I have goals that keep my goingand of course in need lots of dosh to make these goals a reality...

I am off to Melbourne at the end of November to see PJ Harvey play live..i am so excitedI have seen her twice before, but it has always been in a massive festival environmentand it was amazing..but im so stoked to be going to her headline showim sure it will be much more intimatethe whole buzz of massive music festivals trips me out sometimesespecially for watching artists like PJ Harvey followed by the likes of some tripe like Limp Bizkittoo many different types of people meshinganywayso yeah she is sadly not coming to New Zealand on her h huh her tourso ive decided to work hardout for three weeks to get enough cash for a plane ticket over to Melbourne and hangout a few days, soak up the culture, wander around and go see PJ!...then if all goes to plan I am off to Sydney for another show and then onto Brisbane to see her final showwill be so radI figure she is one of my favourite artists so while im over there I may as well see them all!...you only live onceplus im sure they will al be totally different in a variety of ways.so im really excited and work is that much of a bummer cause I can see a pay-offplus I still get my artists benefit which is getting increased, so funds are not all that grey at the moment and I still have time to work on my paintings and photography and music and lots of time to just wander.i caught up with one of my good friends who now lives in Surfers Paradise so im staying there for a week too, will be so good to catch up and go surfing!!!

ive been watching lots of films lately, well whats new?...i love moviesI finally saw the Dawn of the Dead remakeI thought it was a visual mindfuck and so coolI loved how vicious and fast the zombies were!...

..re-watched the Godfather trilogy againthis time on DVD in widescreenI was lost in the imagery, its beautiful on DVD and widescreenoh yeah!...i dont really have a particular favourite in the on-going debate for the best instalmentI really love the first one, just because Al Pacino metamorhpeses just floors me and the cinematography and score and I love the end montage..pure cinema.part 2 is cool in different ways, I love the brooding quality, the intercutting, the tension that builds,..i still get shivers when Fredo goes out in the boat as Michael looks on.i really like part 3 tooits very Shakespearian and once again Al Pacino is just outstanding and contrary to what most critics say, I think Sofia Coppola is perfect as Mary Corleone.

.it has been radiant sunshine over here in between the erratic spring showersyesterday was one of the most ethereally beautiful days I have seen for a long timeso me and my friend James hit the road and went for a hike out to this secluded bayit was so beautiful, the sky was clear, the wind warm , a whole myriad of life buzzing from the bushes, the sand soft and untouchedwe went for a massive rock-walk and discovered some very trippy caves and rock formations whilst bending out imaginations to all the possibilities the marvellous aparations in the rocks can representto me they all looked like some kind of mythical beasts.anyway very cool day, the sunset driving home was a celestial wonder,a mixing together of colours of sublime beauty..perfect end to a otherwordly day

here are some pictures after I have had fun with Photoshop

My lovely chum just saw PJ Harvey and loved her, niot being familiar with her before the show. Hey, yeah, well, my writing class is cool and yet not. To much to detail in that sense. Oddly enough, I write less now that I am back in school, the opposite of my intentions. Well, I guess the Muses' must be hioding out and snickering in a corner while pointing to me. Yeah, well, always good to hear from you JubJub! Keep kicking. It does not matter if one gets to live their dreams 24/7, just as long as they keep weaving a blanket of hopes and aspirations. You'll be totally fine...Argh matey!~ Thar be rough seas ahead but sunshine on the other side... ARRR!!!

Hi JJ,
Yeah, I loved the Dawn of the Dead remake, must have watched it 15 times. So many horrors lack suspense these days., plus the characters were fairly non-stereotypical., plus the humour was cool (shooting zombie jay letterman, rosie oDonnal etc).
i can't understand why reviewers thought so little of it.

PS: PJ Harvey is great, they should run off a few clones...
