The pulse in a wrist. The twist of an arm.
There's a new sound to panic, A yellow alarm
A landscape of symbols, A symbol of pride
The charming apprentice, The turn of the tide
The trust of a child, The time after church
Right on schedule, the kids starve well.
A brave new world order, A new source of scorn.
The table is set....

trinityy:
anything you want....

Heh. Thanks Trinity ---
I will talk about the Rollins Band/Black Flag tribute concert I just saw because I was typing about it in my other journal anyway. If anyone else has a chance to check out this tour, they should go.

OK, Keith Morris is the man. He may not be in as good shape as Henry Rollins but goddamn can he still whale on the mic. I saw the Rollins Band/Black Flag cover show (a benefit for the West Memphis 3) and they started the set with 7 songs with Keith singing, including "Depression". Rollins came out on stage with "Rise Above" and after their set was done, they played 6 or 7 Ramones covers dead-on to the sold-out crowd of about 500 at Axis. This show was the most fun for me of any show I've been to since Conflict. Black Flag is just so raw and intense and simple. They stayed true to that at the show, maybe 1 guitar solo the whole time, and just ripped through an hour and 15 minutes of solid hardcore (and then Ramones covers.) I was honestly dissapointed to see less people I recognized there then I thought I would. I mean, it sold out, but seriously, if there's one ticket worth getting. . . I mean, I guess there are a lot of people who skipped Black Flag en route to getting into local punk and eventually indie rock or whatever the fuck stupid art shit they like (OK, I like it to but that's not my point.) But DAMN, that's what it's all about. OK, I'm rambling.
AHHHHHH!!!! The adrenaline is still flowing even though I am tired, hungry, and sick. None of that matters after seeing the closest thing to an actual Black Flag performance I will ever witness. Did I mention Keith Morris was fucking amazing? Dude was balding with like 3 giant ass dreadlocks, but he rocked so hard. <. /tribute >

The Connecticut Poem
by JR
I already came.
There's nothing to do.
Apparently there is not enough of me
to answer questions I create.
If that's the case, I take the blame.
You wear unmatched socks by choice.
I choose (with care)
how I decide to wear my name.
I'd...

The Rhinoceros Poem
by JR
1993, enter a Russian Girl
obsessed with a rhinoceros
at the Franklin Park Zoo.
Like clockwork after lessons,
she plunked her pink pug nose
against the dirty glass,
watching the bursts of air
from his nostrils
in complete awe.
The smudges
of her fingerprints
piled up,
one day to the next,
gray glass gone white.
The broom man hosed

IMPORTANT: THIS IS NOT THE WHOLE ESSAY. THE AUTHOR IS AWARE THAT IN REALITY WOMEN ARE THE 'FAMILY' BREAD WINNERS THE MAJORITY OF THE TIME AND THAT WOMEN DO THE VAST MAJORITY OF ALL WORK IN THIS WORLD. HOWEVER, THIS PORTION SPEAKS SPECIFICALLY TO GLOBALIZATION AS IT RELATES TO THE MALE GENDER.

The Giraffe Poem
by JR
Write like a child.
Think like an outpatient.
Fuck like a bull.
Cheap like a metaphor,
bitter red wine
might stain something
in a white girl's poem.
Maybe many lame scars
like the rungs of a ladder
will explain it.
She has built
a stairway to sympathy -
mad as a rabid giraffe,
cheap as a whore.
So damn bored,...

(BTW, I really dig the promo flyer on the bottom of the disaster strikes webpage.)
Maybe I should do a photoset. I saw Zoolander for the first time a couple weeks ago and was feeling very inspired. . .
"Stop it guys, don't you ever think theres more to life then being really really really ridiculously good-looking? Like helping people?"
"What people?"
"I don't know.....people who need help."
