i shaved my head in a fit of heat madness about 30 minutes ago. i feel fierce! i am staring at myself in the monitor: shorn head, wireframe glasses, and a torn red teeshirt. feeling like a house party, looking like i should be holding a molotov cocktail.
things are good: i am meeting interesting people, thinking new thoughts, and jumping puddles i've spent three years carefully sidestepping. i want to go outside and yell.
earlier my cat brought a bird, weak and dying, into the kitchen. i put katie in the bathroom, wrapped my hand in a towel. i picked bird up and held her for a long time. she was very scared, and i told her not to be, and finally she listened. after an hour she stopped moving, and i buried her under the pear tree. i held katie for a while and stroked her small triangle head and looked at her green predatory eyes. they face forward, like mine.
i am going to bump some Coup; i need some funk to offset my moody afternoon sunshine.
