the meteor shower was soo beautiful. i got stoned and lay down in frozen grass; my stepfathers st. bernard next to me, snoring. i watched the streaks of whitehot cosmos in the inky black, and listened to cellos lifted on the breath of an old dog. my mom came out around 4am to watch with me. i put my arm around her to keep her warm.
i sat with max the other day. he is very old, especially for a st bernard. i rubbed his ears and told him that someday he would be all sorts of things - flowers and earth, and water, and maybe even a cat. he looked at me with shiny eyes and sneezed on my face.
i talked to my friends online tonight for a long time - new friends, old friends.
i love that feeling that fills you up when you are gathering your tribe.
