finished Dune Messiah today. I just bought it yesterday. I should of bought two books.

The rest of the series takes a huge leap into the future. It's alright to pause between them since the only link in the stories is the God Emperor Leto and the Duncan Idaho ghola. When you finish the Dune series, Frank Herbert's son did a prequel series going through the great houses and the Butlerian Jihad. They don't have the brillance of the originals, but are a good read nonetheless once you have been hooked.
