1. Thank you to the girl who pulled up along side my cab on I-71 north last night. She turned on the dome and had her hand up her skirt. Nice. The rest of you gals need to start doing that too. Or show your boobs... that works also. Be nice to your hard working truck drivers.

Call back! I did get your message and we can yak about VTM! Let me know which version is best and you think would play well on my dinosaur aged computer (it's fossilizing as we speak! ha ha) Oh and the blackberries aren't for everyone...I use mine religiously though so it's good for my needs. You can help me pick out a radio for my self xmas gift too though since you seem to be the specialist in that area! Oh and hey...if the trucker is cute I'd flash him too! Some of us chic are pretty cool like that
chloe:
thank you!!!
Yeah, not much going on lately aside from the status quo. So I haven't posted about it to spare you the tedium of reading the same old "drove to X then to Y then to Z" post. And here I am about to do that again anyhow...

Holy CRAP, when did it become winter? I left Ohio on Saturday and it was like... 70-something degrees. Cool at night but I wasn't running my heater or anything. Went to Tampa, Florida then Memphis, Tennessee. Came back to Ohio yesterday near Cleveland and it's 30 frickin' degrees fahrenheit. Good thing I keep my winter Carhartt jacket here in the truck. Brrr...

Fuck Ohio.
Woah.

Occam's Razor is the principle on which I base most of my beliefs. I think we as humans have a tendency to over-complicate many things. In a self-delusional way.

I have a pretty decent regard for Occam's razor. I study buddhist and especially Zen buddhist thought with a lot of comparable objectives, to clear BS out of my mind so as to leave me clear to just see what's there. Harder to do than you might think.
Kind of vexed that the old POS car that I bought to replace my defunct POS has its own issues. Any car purchase unless you have money for a seriously good car is going to be something of a throw of the dice.
Theoretically I could test for my CDL in three weeks If I were ready and had the cash to pay for the test. Who knows.
Managed to give myself a fairly annoying trucking unjury. Popping out the yellow tractor brake takes so much force and it snaps out so violently that I've manage to make my right index finger swell up from the impact.

The training trucks are mostly International single axle day cabs. There's also an old freighliner that they take the newbies out for shifting drills in.
Random thought- you did your test in a pup trailer. In mass and Ct the trailers have to be at least 40 ft long to test. Mass tests in flatbeds, I think because all the equipment on the truck has to be working and they can't necessarily get at a running light that's out and situated on the top of a van.
I changed my knob pullout technique to using the first joint of my index finger to pull. It's a lot less vulnerable; the tip of my index finger is still swollen actually.

I am sorry to report that my home state has some of the worst drivers on the road. I'm not really sure what the deal is, but in my humble opinion this small state has a disproportionate number of drivers with their head's squarely up their asses.

"Can't you be honest at least once in your life, and admit that you are a deceitful liar who intentionally deceived your nation when you drove them to war in Iraq? I definitely find it preferable to be wandering all over the place and seeing things, rather than just running some fixed route over and over again. In 2001 I was doing school photography, and one of the things I liked about it was that every day was different.
I really like the recent trend of serial episodic television. To be honest, I have not been much of a fan of television in general for a number of years now. There was just very little that I found to be worth my time. I felt strongly enough about it that I only really watched ANY television at all when I was home. And as...

well i'm a student, so the idea of dvd tv programs has great appeal - timetables are not user friendly (lectures at 8pm - what's that about?!)

Hi
17 hour work-day today. I laugh at your "long day at work" stories! Hehe...
Cities visited today: Columbus, Dayton, Cincinnati, Indianapolis, Louisville, Nashville.
Believe it or not, I actually like my job.

it's not often you hear someone say they like their job. There are times I come close to saying it, but then I think about how much I wanna kick kids sometimes.

Tmc gives all their trucks a wash every week or two. According to the rep the supersingle tires are there to save weight, but when they go flat, you're stuck until someone comes out to change them out for you. I have tow cats but they are ferocious furniture destroyers and I would probably have to have one declawed If I were to bring one along. My neighbor has agreed to take care of them for me. I emailed one of the tmc reps about just how heavy the damn tarps actually are. I dont' mind getting dirty but i'm not built like a rhinoceros and I have some limits as to how much weight I can realistically throw around.
I hate all of you disgusting slobs who throw your trash out your car windows.
I'm going to come to where you work and dump my garbage on your desk. Fuckers.

It's amazingly sad that there are still people who think it's ok to do that.
I used to laugh at the people who were so passionate about HATING George W. Bush. Actually, I still do. I think that to hate a president just because you don't agree with his decisions is an immature reaction. Having said that, I am starting to think he has lost his mind lately. The things he is asking for are just incredulous.
Now... I realize...

Hye. Got to grind some gears for the first time this week. Slow start but I'm getting it.
I'm inclined to think that GHWB out to have dispatched Saddam the first time round. At the time we had a pretty good reason for being there and the Iraqis were showing considerable willingness to abandon Hussein's cause. I also suspect that an Iraqui civil war has always been inevitable, given the menas whereby the Baath party was hodling onto power. Whatever; opinions are like assholes, everybody's got one.

I'm hoping for a nice Texas or Florida trip this weekend. I've been running between New England and the midwest almost constantly for like two months. It's getting boring.
Friday edit: No such luck. Going back to the north-east again.
Wednesday was the day I finally got my larger power inverter installed (a device that creates AC power for normal household appliances in a vehicle)....

How have you been anyway? I've missed talking to you. Haven't been around much myself to write in journals and such but I still check in here at least once a day to check out the new pics and such.
And horray for microwaves on rigs!
Was that proper trucking lingo?
