WOW. WHOA. i just saw 'mysterious skin' and OMG unbelievable. i loved the cast, i loved how it wasn't like in "Elephant" with the abrecrombie looking model types who try to act jaded, no, this flick had the beautiful ugly type, the kind that remind me of a song that sounds so weird and distorted but the more you listen to it, it grows on you, and it's a love song because you love it. i don't know what i'm really talking about right now haha, but yeah, it wasn't just a great film about two people who feel connected because of the abuse they suffered as children, but something about it really got to me and cleared my head, my brain feels crystal clear right now. i can't believe it, when i was younger my mom made me watch 'third rock from the sun,' i despised the show but i had a crush on joseph gordon levitt, and i NEVER thought i'd be living in New York and see him walk out of the film forum and i'd be about to go in and watch him in a greg araki flick. and how awesome it must be to be him and watch himself on screen, oh, wow, what a beautiful experience that must be. he is just brilliant in the film. araki's work has always gotten under my skin, but it has never done for me what this film has. i wasn't expecting to come out feeling so inspired and every nerve in my body realized.
i kind of wished i'd seen the eight o'clock flick and met the author and met joseph gordon levitt but i prolly would have gushed tears and asked him to marry me or something
warren_13 i wish you were still up right now so i could talk to you about the film, i hope you get to see it, i know you'd feel the same way i do about it, oh and you were supposed to send me pics of you and Imony and you didn't but i forgive you because you're beautiful. so then i get home from this amazing film and read an email from my friend, paulie, a wonderful painter who survived the Staten Island Ferry crash last October. he had to have his legs amputated, but he is so amazing, just everything he's been through, and he's going to show me some of his work soon but now he's busy going back to school
which is awesome, i'm so glad to hear that. he's a big inspiration to me. okay, so i'm gonna put on a pot of coffee and write all night long, while it's so quiet the dead can hear me type and there will be no distractions. ok, people, hope you're feelin as good as i am right now.
