On June 10th of 2005, Elizabeth walked into my life.
She came out of nowhere, like that first blast of cool air smack in the middle of the summer heat. The circumstances by which we met were as impossible as they come, plus just a bit more. More incredible still was our instant connection. Our first date was leaps better than all of the others I'd ever had. Ever. We talked non-stop through a sunset and a sunrise, and it didn't once get boring. At 24, her insight, intelligence and perspective impressed me more than did the same of most 30-year-olds I knew. Here was this sexy little blonde, dropped into my life, and she's saying things to me that are all at once exciting, refreshing, engaging, and familiar. Her views were pretty much mine, albeit from a slightly different angle.
The next six days went by in a blur. Since she lived in College Station, we talked every night online and over the phone. Usually until 3AM. And we both had careers to worry about.
The following weekend, she drove back to Austin and we had our second date. That's the point where we decided to become 100% exclusive. Goddamn if we were going to share.
For a couple of months, we each made the trip to the other until she made the decision to move to Austin so that we could see each other every day. And she did, and we did.
And we still do. And it still hasn't gotten boring.
And I love her. So so much, I love her. And she loves me. And not a day goes by that we don't say it or prove it to one another. And we really don't need to prove it anymore, but we do it anyway.
This Saturday, March 4th, while most of my friends are at STAPLE!, Elizabeth and I will be exchanging vows and rings in a small, private wedding ceremony somewhere in Austin. The experience will be shared only with our immediate families, a chaplain, and each other.
And I'm nothing less than overjoyed to start the rest of my life with her.
Elizabeth Thank you for being the most wonderful and amazing person I've ever met. Thank you for being alive and for wanting to share that life with me. Thank you for being open and honest and trusting and helpful and beautiful. Thank you for being beautiful in every way. For being good to me. Thank you for your compassion and understanding. For having a level-head and for your passion. Thank you for your kindness. Thank you for loving me.
I promise to always be the best man I can possibly be for you. I will love, honor and cherish you, from now until the day I die.

I only got to meet the two of you that once at BV's, but I can certainly attest to Elizabeth's loveliness!
Congrats and many happy returns!
