1. How was your Thanksgiving and what are you thankful for?

Stayed home and ate good food. Watched the Macy’s parade, but zero sports. I’m thankful for life, for love, for every new experience, for every bit of kindness and empathy, for the people who are dear to me, and, ofc, the dearest one of all.

2. Who's putting up a Christmas tree 🎄?

You...

Firstly, thanks to @mrkala for including me in this questionnaire. Kind of a rarity for me (😉) and a lot of fun! So here we go…

1. Three favorite things you like about spring?

Spring is the annual miracle when the planet comes back to life. Hope is all around, and love is in the air.

2. Who's going on vacation, holiday or weekend getaways...

This was great. Thank you for completing the quiz. I enjoyed reading your answers. I wasn't sure if this sort of thing was up your street but figured I'd tag you anyway. Haha.

I’m hardly unbiased, but the extraordinary @rare has yet another phenomenal set Some Like It Hot! Truly world class by any measure, she needs and deserves your love, and it deserves FP. So do yourself a favor, just click the link and click the heart, you can thank me later. And thank you! ❤️

Oh my, bad Johnny! I’ve been MIA again, but then, so has most of the world. It’s been no fun watching the totalitarian fad sweep the globe (and I will not sit by, idly doom-scrolling). The pandemic didn’t bother me as much as most folk - I’m an INFP, and it was kind of an Introvertopia for me. Wrote a couple of plays, livestreamed a...

I have been working relentlessly for eight months trying to adapt Sinclair Lewis’ “It Can’t Happen Here,” his wonderful/horrific/timely agitprop novel, for the stage. I had planned to run 9-11 throufh Halloween for the 2020 election. But...

Regardless of my experience in adapting 19th and 20th century literature for theatre, some prose simply refuses to translate to the stage (so read it!) Then came covid-19,...

Anything cooking with this interesting project?  Still sadly relevant.  I'm in the DC area and now cautiously willing to venture out into a large dark room containing other vectors... people.  I mean people.

I hate to say it, but “Pepperland” was the worst choreography and design I’ve ever seen from Mark Morris. Everything seemed just plain lazy to me.

So, long time, long update... My old friends depression and panic hit me, and instead of reaching out, I isolated. But the big crap is that our landlord of 20 years is threatening us with Eviction. No cause, no missed rent, no complaints - They just want to jack the rent up 3 or 4 times. I’m certain I can beat this legally, and I...

Everyone is naturally excited to seem interesting enough that people want to “follow” them. But today, I opened Twitter to find a man who has won my love and respect, who’s been an immense inspiration, and who I have followed for over 40 years...

I have reached the part of the process where directing becomes outrageously fun. Reworking the script, blocking the show like a choreographer, arranging voices like a conductor, and designing a world. I don’t think of myself so much as a director, but as a creator of alternate realities, which we invite/coax people into. The liminal space between audience and spectator melts, and change is possible....
