Definitely water. Sarah's top advice is find a distraction. Sometimes a headache continues longer than it needs to because of the tension in your head of you going "ow! A headache!" and that makes it hurt more. Oooh and some of that proper chocolate, not the sugary kind but the proper cocoa stuff.
That said if it's just that time of the month you can just stay under the bedclothes for a few days until it passes, and get your boy to go out and fetch things
