Sometimes, when I can’t figure out how to dress a portrait subject, or if I want a reference for how the clothes will drape, I’ll paint the animal in it’s birthday suit before I paint the clothes on. I really liked the coloring of this anteater, so I decided to keep it skimpy. Now I feel a little dirty. Not as dirty as if I’d painted the front of the bikini, but still.
