I am addicted to tutorials on youtube. Most of the time I don't watch them for tips and tricks but if I am sitting at the computer for long periods of time I like putting them up in the background. It's kind of soothing listening to people talk about makeup methods and hair.
Except today I tried a hair tutorial. Found out my hair CAN... Read More

But I've seen you when you're high strung, too - when the nerves are burning every mote of blood sugar they can find. Thought and worry keeps us thin, eh?

What Darke said. I don't think that it has to do with being drawn to pain. Evolutionarily, we're much more likely to move to what we're comfortable in, and that's sort of the core of those lyrics. Even though the pain is there, we're more likely to stick with what we know, rather than the strange, unfamiliar unknown. Sometimes to move out of a position of accepting less than what you deserve, involves breaking out of what you're comfortable with...and that is something that makes these pieces of life very scary.
Trust me, it's very scary to move outside of your comfort zone, but it's also very liberating. I speak from experience.
