Today I have an interview for a dog hotel/salon. I'm really excited but trying not to get too excited since I've been on a handful of interviews with no luck. And I don't know which shifts they are hiring for as I will not do overnight shifts. But fingers crossed anyway.

Actually got up today with Sam when he was getting ready for work, which is rare. But today.. I finally got to see my male betta fish make his mating bubbles!! Usually I wake up or look over and there they are but I caught him this time and even filmed it for Sam to see.

Worst place to get a sweat pimple? Armpit! Fucking christ I thought I had a poisonous spider bite! But no.

So,... for a long while now I've been collecting videos form youtube that had sounds that make my scalp tingle like goosebumps after realizing I had such a strong reaction/soothing to certain audio oddities. Recorded sounds of paper or plastic or of opening packages, people doing crafts ect. Or even in person since I'm pretty sure that's where it started. Friends ruffling about in their purses, doing crafts with others ect. And come to find out it's something that actually has a name. ASMR which stands for Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response.

And this is how it's described:

SPOILERS! (Click to view)

Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response (ASMR) is a physical sensation characterized by a pleasurable tingling that typically begins in the head and scalp, and often moves down the spine and through the limbs.

Most ASMR episodes begin by an external or internal trigger, and are so divided for classification. Type A episodes are elicited by the experiencer using no external stimuli, and are typically achieved by specific thought patterns unique to the individual. Type B episodes are triggered involuntarily by an external trigger, via one or more senses, and may also involve specific thought patterns associated with the triggering event. Both types of triggers vary between individuals, but many are common to a large portion of ASMR enjoyers.

Common external triggers:

Exposure to slow, accented, or unique speech patterns
Viewing educational or instructive videos or lectures
Experiencing a high empathetic or sympathetic reaction to an event
Enjoying a piece of art or music
Watching another person complete a task, often in a diligent, attentive manner - examples would be filling out a form, writing a check, going through a purse or bag, inspecting an item closely, etc.
Close, personal attention from another person
Haircuts, or other touch from another on head or back

There is even research as that is where I stole this description, but you can check it out for yourself at ASMR Research

Something fascinating that I thought I would share. Now when I go to youtube I can type in asmr and get all sorts of awesome audio goodies or silent videos.

Just got back from the interview, forgot to take my resume. But it was over in 3 minutes anyway. Meet and greet, walked me through the place asked like 3 questions and that was it. So depressing.
