I did a studio day on Sunday and had 3 different photographers book me, including the studio owner who I am friends with.
The first guy who booked me was beyond lovely, very easy to work with, arrived early to set up, gave me fabulous direction and was lots of fun to work with and it was a great 3 hour shoot.
The second photographer is where things went very much down hill, he was just beyond unprofessional and insulting. he booked 2 hours with me, spent the first half an hour setting up lights, complaining to the studio owner and faffing around, which ok was little off putting but I just got on with the shoot. I was then subjected to him telling me to get into the most bizarre and awkward positions for bodyscaping images, was then informed my spine was far too curved, my shoulder blades where to pronounced, my hip bones stuck out too much, my legs where too long...... and the list goes on. due to how he wanted me to pose I couldn't hold the poses for long stretches of time, I had to break for a few minutes every 5-10 minutes due to how awkward the positions where, which made him even more of a delight during our shoot. all the through the shoot he would keep telling me he was a proffessional photographer, then would tell me he was an amatuer photographer. I was then informed he was on call from work, so if he had to answer a call for work he expected me to let him make the time up for him after the his initial booking time ran out even though he knew I had another photographer booked after him. in the end I did let the shoot an extra 15 minutes due to his faffing at the start, as I like to think I'm fair and maybe he was just having a bad day, he got very annoyed continued to insult me and then informed he probably wouldn't send me any images from the shoot for atleast 6 months as he also had more important things to do, then tried to haggle me down on my booking price even though he agreed to it in advance and on the day with me and the studio owner.
so safe to say that since shooting with this man I have been a little self conscious of my boney bits. I know my spine has a slight natural curve to it and that my hip bones can jut out when I'm laid down, I also know that no matter how much weight I gain or lose you can tend to see my chest plate, but I've now found myself analysing most of myself in the mirror in a panic that I am chubby yet boney creature.
on another note I will never shoot with this "gentleman" ever again. I've done some pretty shitty shoots before today but he has to be the worst I have experienced so far.
