After a week and a half of not having a car I stopped in to the car lot to check on the progress of fixing the Buick. They had said they needed to take it to a dealership and have them reset the computer and that that should fix everything but when I checked in on Monday morning they said it was ready to go. I even got a new battery out of the deal. I meant to write about this but didn't have the chance last night and today the car broke down again when I went on my lunch break. I had to walk back to work from Subway and I was so angry but when I called the dealership they were gone. I have felt really helpless over the past week, both having no phone and no car; no way to get around and no way to communicate with anyone to get help, and it seems like it's going to continue. I've tried to do a bit of research on lemon laws here in Alabama but the wording seems so vague and complicated, I really don't know if this car qualifies or not. I do know that about 50% of the time I've been in possession of the car it hasn't worked and that at this point we've paid out nearly $3,000 and still don't have a reliable way to get ourselves to work. Tomorrow Dean and I are going to go to the dealership after work but I don't really know what my rights as a customer are. I'm wondering if the right thing to do is just demand shit because I've been nice up to this point and I feel like it really hasn't gotten me anywhere. But the truth is that if they don't provide me with a car I can depend on then I'm going to stop paying them. I mean, they can try to sue me or something but I don't know how capable they would be of doing that kind of thing. I just know that if this kind of shit keeps up I'm going to be fired and I really can't be fired now when we're just finally starting to get caught up and I'm at a store that I actually like.
