So a month after I have my car stolen, (damaged, but recovered) I have my window smashed and my back-pack stolen.

Nothing in it but a change of clothes and a day planner. However, I'll never replace the Billy Jack Haynes t-shirt.

Any luck on finding your wheels, perhaps? That's bloody terrible that your friend's gifts were inside.. what a kick in the teeth.

I've been given $900 by the library to spend on comic books. All work should be this fun.

I have shocked, SHOCKED the library world by deciding to read the Harry Potter books only after having seen the movie. There hasn't been this type of uproar in my professional community since I informed my library grad school mates that I neither wore glasses nor contacts. They probably thought I was a plant.

This means I have recently started reading the Goblet of Fire....

I Drive like you wink tongue
Heh heh

Cool bit with that Life boardgame wink

Heh. Sometimes there is no need for comparison, it is either a good work in and of itself or as faithful as it could be to the book and therefore just good.

If you can avoid driving from Portland to McMinnville from 3 to 4 a.m., please do so. It's a very sleepy drive.

charlize:
Why did you have to go to McMinnville?
suntlacrimae:
That sounds like a sucky drive.

But things are looking decidedly not sucky for our Ducks!! Now we just need USC to take a dive. biggrin

What should I do for a Halloween costume? I was thinking about wearing a cowboy hat. That would be more foreign for me than wearing a superhero outfit, rubber mask, or some suit from yester-year.
happycherries:
I make really really nice fairy costumes. biggrin

Na, it had nothing to do with Teen Read Week. In fact I'd never heard of it untill I read your journal. blush

I was reffering to the hotel in Portalnd. Figured you'd been down about your living situation. And I need a vacation. biggrin

Why would they steal my trash can, god damn it?

I can understand why they took my DVD's, CD's, and Gamecube. I can also see why they took my roommates half rack of beer and his half bottle of Malibu rum. But the kitchen garbage can? It was full!?!

clara:
Hm. Maybe they threw the bag out and used the can to carry away the stolen goods?
recalcitrant:
Something really similar has happened to me, actually. Some hooligans knocked over a dust bin in Shaftsbury...er, broke into my cabin, and stole an axe, a motorcycle helmet, some .22 shells, all of which "make sense" I suppose, but then they also took a couple of forks, a couple of knives, some placemats, and a pot. Not all the pots, just one of them, and not all the utensils, just about half (and no spoons! und keine spooner!).

But honestly, for somebody to break into a cabin as old and shabby as ours, they're not the brightest light in the meat compartment.

Time for a new years resolution. I will get back in shape. I am no longer that svelt shot glass of water you see in my pics. One semester without exercising has turned me into Jabba the Apathetic. Luckily, in lieu of jogging, I've been smoking a pack of cigarettes a day, so switching back ought to be a breeeze.

Alright, already!! I have received a second request to update my journal. The first came from the lovely Isobel, God rest her internet soul, and the second recently came from a stranger to me, but a friend to all mankind, Coco. She was kind enough to comment on my journal, which, as you all know, means she is of the highest ilk. So at this...
