Today was a day of checking out new music and looking for certain band shirts. I want to make some bands shirts myself. Represent for Alaskan punk and hiphop. I went to a show the other day. It was at a public park. 9 punk bands playing from 1pm-9pm. It was a great show. It was a little too windy. But other than that it was great. And best of all it was free. It's funny how hard it is to find a venue in this podunk town. I'm glad that a few people took it in their hands to find a good spot, get a generator, and make sure that its a drugfree and nonviolent show. I want to help as much as I can at the next ones. It was great how cool everyone was about keeping their alcohol out of view and watching out for little kids there.
I think it would be great to have a punk music festival outside in Alaska. Make it a 3 day event. There are a descent amount of bluegrass and folk music festivals up here but that's about it. A hiphop one would be good also, though I dont know how well the turnout would be. I wish I owned some land to do that.
