In the last week:
A friend of a friend's mother had a stroke and was in the hospital. While she was there and unable to move, fully aware of her surroundings, she was raped on three different occasions by an orderly. I believe she has recovered and action is being taken - otherwise our hillbilly mafia might have to mobilze.

A very close friend of mine told me how she was molested by her maternal grandfather from when she was 6 until she was 12. At age 12 she stood up to him and he stopped. She never told anyone for fear of breaking up the family. At age 18 she overheard her older sister talking to her mom about the same grandfather and she realized that it had happened to her sister and a cousin as well, and that the family had known about it, gone to therapy and considered the whole thing dealt with. Luckily a friend inadvertantly ran off the guy we think drugged her, but as she refused help getting home, she either fell or jumped off a retaining wall and broke both of her heels. She will not walk for three months. The man is still at large. If we can find him before the police ...
