Hell fucken yeah, I'm back on SG!
I've spent the last 45 minutes going through my old posts, so I can see where I left off, and start telling the story of where I am now.
I left Auckland. I'm living back in Wellington with my partner, and our two rats (actual rats - not an affectionate term for children - not yet, anyway) We have a little place in Lower Hutt, which is very handy to my new place of employment .. as a youth worker! Holy crap. Who would've thunkit?
Wellington is hell for shows. Nothing ever happens, and when it does, the places are full of wankers - a different kind of wanker to Aucklanders - the Aucklanders were the original wankers - Wellington wankers are so far behind it's not even funny. They still find "emo" amusing.
When I left Wellington, I had a pretty tight group of friends in the music scene down here - but they all either died/moved/went into hiding/went out of fashion, and when I came back, I found myself on the outside again. This was a year and a half ago, and I'm still on the outside - BUT - I don't actually care. The group of muso's and friends down here aren't the most friendly and welcoming citizens in the world - and maybe that's how people felt about my old group of friends, but I've grown, in age, and wisdom, enough to realise that that is not where I want to be, not anymore. I'd rather surround myself with good people, who will be there for me, probably forever, than a group of people that will probably eventually die/move/go into hiding/go out of fashion. I'm happier staying home and making shit for my house anyway - I'm a DIY whore these days.
