Been a minute since my last update!
I've been pretty busy lately. I got my Land Rover back, which is good, and then I promptly got massively sick with food poisoning. My stomach is still kicking my over it, so I've gotta go easy on the boozin' this weekend. I'm having dinner with my dad and his wife on Christmas Eve, which is pretty cool, then doing the whole Christmas morning blah-blah-spend-money-or-I-don't-love-you-blah-blah thing at moms house.
So I read a front page article on CNN about people trying to make Christmas politically correct. "Taking CHRIST out of CHRISTMAS." He complains that Seasons Greetings and Happy Holidays are OBVIOUSLY meant for Christmas because it's THE holiday of the time. He then goes on to explain that the Jews and Muslims have their most important celebrations around the same time as well. BUT ITS MEANT FOR CHRISTIANS!
Get the fuck out of here with that bullshit. You just shot down your own argument. Happy Holidays is a general term I can tell everyone without them getting pissed off or offended, you overly-pretentious, self-important retard. I have Christian friends, Jewish friends, Muslim friends, Atheist friends and Agnostic friends. Happy Holidays conveys my feelings of "I hope this winter celebration period goes well for you" to everyone. Christians get their JESUS WAS BORN TODAY!!! shit that floats their boat, Jews get their million spellings for Hanukkah, Muslims get their pilgrimage to Mecca (which is by far the coolest and most dedicated holiday), and Agnostics and Atheists get our Winter Solstice. He even then goes own to claim that people who use Xmas instead of Christmas are doing it because they want to remove Christ from his own celebration. He is, of course, too stupid to realize that the X in Xmas isn't the English letter X, but it is in fact the GREEK letter Chi, which was used for Christ. Whoops! You're a dumbshit!
So, do you see now, you retarded excuse for a journalist? Why we're not trying to take "Christ out of Christmas?" We're simply trying to be supportive and expressive of peoples differences, while at the same time celebrating our own. I don't understand the blatant discrimination of Christians anymore. They seem to think because they're the (rapidly declining) majority in this country, that this nation was in fact founded upon their ideals. Last I checked, we had a nice idea called Separation of Church and State (FUCK YOU, HUCKABEE!). It kept things fair for everyone! And who included that? The men who built this place? No fucking way! Get outta here!
Let's not even mention the fact that Christmas wasn't even a celebrated holiday in the US until 1870.
Maybe its because they realize that their numbers are rapidly dwindling that they feel the need to really press their agenda now. A decade ago it was an estimated 78% considered themselves Christians. Now, it's down to an estimated 48%. That's a significant drop. Perhaps its a last-ditch bid to get people on the bandwagon? I don't know. All I know is, I like the idea of people thinking for themselves and being conscientious of other people and respectful of their beliefs. It is a saddening state of affairs to see the religion that preaches LOVE and PEACE ends up being the most bigoted, hateful religion.
"I don't reject your Christ. I love your Christ. It's just that so
many of you Christians are so unlike your Christ."

Now there was a smart guy.

many of you Christians are so unlike your Christ." Because there ARE many Christians that are very unlike Christ himself and that really saddens me. These Christians sit around and judge people when it's not their place to judge. They sit on their high horse and point fingers like they are God almighty when they are not. I have to stay away from these types of Christians and stay pure to my own beliefs and values. I must stay true to my Higher Power who I call God, I get to him by the way of Jesus Christ. I look to Jesus Christ for everything so taking Christ out of Christmas would be a tragedy to me and I won't do it. Not ever! Taking Christ out of Christmas is Bullshit to me however Happy Holidays is appropriate in some occasions like around New Years.
I like blogs like this...Keep 'em coming! Will ya? Their interesting and controversial. They're a pleasure to read. You're such a wonderful writer.
Sorry you are sick. Hope you feel better soon. And Merry Christmas! I know that kills you since you are agnostic. Ha! Ha! Maybe I should say Happy Holidays to you.
Anyway...Have a good one!
