A disability

A disability is only as powerful as you want it be. I went to high school with two blind people. One Boy. One Girl.

The boy was on the wrestling and track teams which I also was on. He was a very bright and happy person. He was better than me in both sports. Fast forward a few years and I saw him at the local super market. Married to a beautiful woman with one kid and another on the way. He was a computer tech of some kind.

The girl liked working with crafts and didn't smile very much and seemed sad all the time. But she would notice my voice and say hi to me when I was near. I do not know what became of her.

Two obese people in my life currently again one boy one girl.

The man man is severely obese but goes to work every night. Many people make fun of him and say things like, ''do you think he has to change the tires on the left side of his car more often than the two on the right?" And more obese jokes. He's not a very bright person but he shows up daily.

The woman is slightly to moderately obese and works but only 20 hours a week at minimum wage because if she works more they government will doc her disability check. She's always complaining how she's going to make ends meet and gets mad when I suggest she go back to get her masters degree in teaching and forego the government check altogether. Her boyfriend on the other hand lost his leg in a motorcycle accident and works 40+ hours a week.

So you can let a disability control and dictate your life or you can control your disability. Let it know you're one badass mother docker.

I had PTSD from my childhood and I could have gotten a free ride for the rest of my life but I said NO! I am in control I dictate my own life. Eventually the PTSD vanished. By the way it does anger me when people joke about having it or any other illness whether it's mental or physical. Some control their medical issues and others let the issues control them.
