I want to get a few tattoos. I need suggestions. My personal friends aren't very helpful. I'm a tattoo virgin. So any advice is welcome.

The best way, I think: decide what kind of tattoo you want, what style... then take a look on local tattooists in you area, check their work in social networks, choose few you really like and you feel will "your style" and simply talk with them, ask about advices, sketches and so on

Thanks guys but this blog is over a year old. I have a new one out stating what I will be getting and where. I do like the thought out comments though.
