I can't begin to describe how lucky I am to be writing this journal today. I got pinched last night by one-time. That's right, I got pulled over leaving a bar.
I went to the gym at about 9pm, and as I was leaving I saw that a buddy of mine was at the bar next to my gym. I went in, watched the last half of the football game with him. Played some bowling on the video machine game thing, and had about six beers and a couple shots on the night. Nothing too bad, I guess I have a high tolerance. Well, I go to leave, pull out on the road after making a right at a light and the disco lights turn on.
I'm fucked. So I pull off, and long story short...I get two field sobriety tests from two diferrent officers and pass. What I'm left with is two tickets: running a red light (he said I rolled the light...) and changing lanes without a directional signal...While the asshole was behind me and I was pulling over!!!!!
The guy was a dick the whole time, but hey I deserve it. I had been drinking, not drunk by any means, but a lot of people lose loved ones thanks to fuckheads like me on nights when I don't have any business behind the wheel.
I'm gonna pay up, do my traffic school and walk away. This has definitely made me seriously reconsider drinking and driving. I've not had even a close call with the cops, but one of my best friends just got his 3rd DUI. He's my age.
Anyway, what a bummer. But could be a lot worse. I'm pretty disappointed in my self I guess is how I'm feeling.
