I've been playing this wicked old bass; vintage Fender Musicmaker... It's black. And it's little (like me!)... Has the most gorgeous smooth sound; a little woody, super rich. lovely tone... I bought this sweet little 60W combo amp a few weeks ago that also has great sound quality-- any bass you play through sounds sweet , sweet, sweet. Love it, love it. I've been writing a lot of NON-metal/thrash/punk/monstermash. Ha ha ha... And actually writing some kind of bluesy shit, thats really fun to play not to mention sing.
Now if only we could really cement this band, there would be so much to work with!
Although, playing in a straight up rock n roll band is fun... I would really rather been playing some hellbilly-thrashattack hybrid. I might look like a total sugarplum in pictures, but it just ain't so.

I'd still like to try jamming with you guys if you still need a drummer. I'll have to get my kit soon though because my ex is leaving for tour at the end of the month. I guess we'll talk about it on our way to Toronto!
