Holy shit...its been almost 3 months since last I posted here....pathetic!
So what has happened since february? Well we went back to Germany for our final pre-deployment evaluation which like every other trip to Germany sucked immensely. Then we had a few weeks of doing essentially nothing then we got some leave time! Thats right there was yet another glorious return to the states during which time I partook of the diner food Ive so missed so, spent glorious time with my friends, suffered the overbearing love of my family and generally did nothing productive. The last part I regret a bit because now I realize that there was quite a few things I had wanted to accomplish while I was home that I completely forgot about! But I suppose theres always mid-tour leave to take care of all that.
So were off to Afghanistan in little over a week and its going to be close to a year before I get back home. This is going to be the first year Ill be away from the family for christmas which sucks a good bit as thats the one time a year I get to see pretty much everyone. However if all goes well Ill be home for my birthday on mid-tour leave and that should prove to be one hell of a party! Of course thats all contingent on my not dying between now and then. Ok so maybe this whole army thing wasnt such a great idea but hey, itll give me plenty of stories for the grandkids if I live to be so old.
