wow, everytime I post it always seems to start with something along the lines of"well shit its been a long time since I posted"and this time is no different. and Im nowhere near active enough on the boards to make up for my lack of blogging, all in all I seem to be wasting away my membership. pitiful.
I suppose Im antisocial even online! thats sad.
so what has happened over the last 2 months since last I posted? well I went back to germany, which sucked in greater proportions than last time we went. a fact to which I atribute the lack of schnitzel! in fact there were no snacky truck this time...not schnitzel or icecream or pasteries and coffee...nothing. the schnitzel was the only thing that restored my hope for the bright future of the german race...they seemed to have finally overcome their inability to create anything good and wholesome. but I now see that it was simply a well orchestrated ruse leading to the eventual disappointment felt when the heavens ceasesed to rain schnitzelly goodness upon our weary souls.
so in short, we IMTd up and down a moutain for a week and spent the rest of the time at ranges. what is an IMT you ask? Individual Movement Technique...as in you jump up off the ground, sprint for 3-5 seconds then throw yourself at the ground as hard as you can...the proper form to be dropping to your knees then sprawling out on the ground. unfortunately the knee pads were issued are crap so after you do this 2 or 3 times they slip down around your shins and you begin slamming your knees into the ground...which typically contains rocks or logs. sometime when were lucky we get put in the assaulting position. what this means is when our lead element makes contact our job is to run around and flank the enemy position. being the lucky dogs we are there was plenty of nice thick viney concealment for us to move through! so we would go bounding through dense woods as fast as we possibly could tripping and falling our way bit by bit to the assault line...at which point we started the IMT process.
in short, the army sure does suck.
on the brighter side, I got to see my grandma in Rome this weekend...that of course didnt go untainted by the filth that is the army...for some damn reason someone thought it would be a good idea to have a PT test on saturday...the day I had planned to go and see my grandmother...so I managed to get on a train around 1pm and got there around 6...just enough time to get dinner and say goodnight as she and the rest of the family had to leave at 4am to catch their flight. but it was worth the trip to see her for a few hours, especially since the death of my grandfather 2 months ago. she seemed to be in relatively high spirits though she did say she was feeling a bit guilty about all the free time she had now that she didnt have to take care of him
well thats enough for now, maybe Ill update before January
