There's some major shakeups at the Auto Parts emporium the past couple days. The guy that works the late shift with me, Chad, gave his two weeks notice. He's goin' to a big trucking firm to be a gearjammer truck driver. Great for him, sucks for me. We've been workin' together for over six years. He's more than just a co-worker, he's a great friend, and I'm seriously gonna miss him. Since Chad's leavin', the powers that be decided to shorten the store's operating hours during the week, having us close at 6pm instead of 8pm. Bein' that my shift was from 11:30am to 8pm, my new shift is now 9:30am to 6pm. Which means I have to get up 2 hours earlier so I can be at work 2 hours earlier. Can you say Cranky Jabroni?
One positive thing about all this is that since Chad will be on the road a majority of the time, he's giving up is black Lab, Samson. And guess who is taking Samson in? Yes, in 2 weeks I will have a 4 legged friend! YeeHaw! I can't wait, and Mom is super excited. He'll be a great buddy for her while she's home alone. And Chad will be able to visit with him whenever he wants. Everybody wins!
