NEW YEARS -- 2009
Revelers reveling at dawn
like new aged broken promises to a child
wild eyed and wide open
glowing like chinese fireworks
in an abstract holy moment of perfect terror.
Stark and amazing as a hand slap
last year a mothers love lost
like milk down a sewer
in the parking lot of dreams.
Amazing as dawn captured frozen like foul prey
in an in an insane asylum museum
of wood paneled frozen desires.
Like specimens in a monkey zoo
or a laboratory of funky drums, saxophones and salvation.
Mustard stain of memory
a god's flash slight-of-hand revelation
before the lights go out
and the record begins to play
this crazy life forever again.
