New Badass Journal Entrywith Pictures!!!

Its hard to describe how cool the last week and a half has beenbut Ill try.

On Saturday the 10th we headed in to Boston for the Comic Con. It was the debut of the comic book I worked on with a lot of good friends both old and new. We were excited to get inside to see how things were goingbut first we had to stand in line for two hours to get in the front door.

Here is a picture of me, my friend Robbie and my brother Josh (who also worked on the book) as we waited in line. (picture by JennyLou)

The line really wasnt terrible, as there were a lot of cool people to talk to. Eventually we were inside, where we were greeted by the news that the book had been selling, and selling very well. Our table was swarmed with interested folks and friends. After saying hello I was put to work signing copies of the book along with all of the other contributors present.

One of the cool things I found out when I arrived was that there was a filmmaker who was shooting a short documentary on the team putting the book together. Everyone took their turn getting interviewed at the Con, including me.

And here is a cool picture of my brother and me holding the books up to show our respective contributions for the camera

I have some social anxiety issues so I was not a huge fan of being on camera, but everything else was going so well that I didnt mind blathering like a moron with a thousand yard stare.

At 3:30 PM we officially sold out our entire supply of the book; the supply that had been meant to last us through a second day of the Convention and an additional signing at one of our local comic shops. There was much rejoicing, huzzah!

Fast forward a full week to the 17th, where we did our first local signing at Newbury Comics!

We did pretty well that day, and I got to see the custom one-off shirts that NYC graffiti artist Phetus designed for us. I cant wait to get my hands on some that are my size.
The highlight of the week came when we got our first major review for the book. Fangoria magazine gave us 4 out of 4 Skulls in their review, which pretty much made my year (at least until the wedding in August).
Fangoria Review of Zombie Bomb: Dead Not Dead

We have a lot of appearances lining up at Conventions right now, and it is all a bit surreal. The only thing I can do is smile and roll with the good times while they last. Well that, and get to work on another story for a future issue of the anthology.

If you are interested, here is the book in the Terminal Press Shop and on Facebook:

Other than all of this awesomeness, I have a Pirate wedding to plan for August. Get in touch with me or JennyLou if you are interested and swinging on by.
