Quiet times around here. Nothing terribly interesting going on. We're slowly getting my brother's stuff together for his move on May 1st, but there really is no rush, so it will be about as relaxed and stress free a move as you can get. I'm sort of looking forward to going through all the things we've accumulated over the years, so we can figure out who gets what. There's always a few forgotten family treasures to be found when you go through all your pack-rat items.
I'm trying to tuck a few extra dollars away for my vacation at the end of May. I may do a few weeks of 7 nights/week work, but I'm used to having weekend nights free lately. My vacation won't be expensive at any rate, as I'm not going anywhere except local tourist areas and into Boston for one night.
In vacation news for next year, one of my oldest friends got a hold of me last week. Her name is Heather and she lives in Rome right now. She moved a few years ago from New Hampshire and she's been happily working as a chef. We caught up on each other and she told me that if I'm ever in the area (of Italy) I can crash a her place in the spare room, and she will cook for me. So free place to crash in Rome and a private chef for a week for me and a guest. Could be the cheapest Vacation to Italy I could think of, barring somehow getting free plane tickets.
Nothing else going on right now, if aything comes up I'll write about it.
Edit:
I just found out that my brother had to back out of the house deal. Pretty shitty. There was some additional costs that were never explained to him in the beginning, and it was too much for him and the girlfriend. So I have my brother as a roomate for another month or two at least. Then he's going to try and get a small apartment for 6 months or so while they save for another house hunt. Overall this sucks, but it may be better for them in the long run.
