It is 1986 all day in my office, I can't stress strongly enough how great "Left of the Dial: Dispatches fro 80s Underground" is. They call it "songs that matter from the decade that didn't, and it kicks all kinds of ass.

I watched 10 minutes of the Nick and Jessica X-Mas special last night. It was so bad that it physically hurt to watch...

I am spending the night uploading the ridiculous number of CDs I bought today and resting my liver. I believe I am going to be drunk for a week starting Thursday night.

After going toclaremarie's show at the Highrisk Gallery (1113 W. Belmont, 7-9pm Thursday night) I am going to the airport to pick up a bunch of friends from New York. We...

Not much going on in Itburns world today. Work, work, work. Did buy far too many CDs at Virgin Store, but that's another story.

Nothing exciting in my life but tomorrow night at the Highrisk Gallery on 1113 W. Belmont claremarie has a gallery show from 7-9. Look under her profile, she has some great stuff. Check it out if you're in Chicago.

I will...

Lemme put it this way (and please note that this is being said not in a mean way but in a claremarie way smile ): before I was dating my boyfriend, he came to my house under the pretense that he was "interested in my paintings" and might be in the market to buy one. I mentioned that two of them weren't for sale--Crimson Orb and Goldfish (the first one). He thought about this for a moment and said "What if someone offered you $6000 for one for them?"

I will end that story here. smile

Looking forward to meeting you and all your friends tomorrow.

ps: did you used to have a different alias? 'Cause I feel like I recognize your avatar.
esme:
In the end he got a pretty good deal. Now we live together and the painting is up in our bedroom.

That's odd about your avatar, then...I doubt anyone else has it, and I wouldn't have seen it on Shicawgo's page since she has so many friends. Maybe in the hookup section, now that they're doing that thing where local people pop up randomly?

I am in my office for the first time in 5 weeks, and I believe I will be here the rest of the week. Amazing. I'm already bored with paper work and reading an avalanche of unread mail. So: Jimmy John's and SG.

Have 16 tickets to the firm box for the Bulls-Heat game Friday. The Bulls suck but seeing Shaq will be worth it....

Well, my family isn't THAT bad. confused

It was in my last journal entry, and pretty everyone I had hoped would consider coming had already posted, so I figured it was time for an update.

Anaphora is basically (I hate defining things; I'm always afraid I'll be inaccurate) using the same word or phrase over and over for literary or rhythmic effect.

Jimmy John's and SG does sound like a v. good combo. smile

I just recieved my schedule for the week and can't believe my eyes: no travel!! Can it be true?? I'm not going to believe it until Friday is over.

Office X-Mas party Saturday, need to buy present for my secretary and my assistant. Assistant is easy: he's a 24 yr old e-head who likes to party. Secretary is a 50ish woman with grown kids and...

Thanksgiving was not as bad as I thought it would be. If I blurred my vision and drowned out his voice, I could pretend my sister's husband wasn't really there. Food and wine were great and I got home friday morning.

My parents stopped in Chicago today on their way home for shoppping. This wasn't too bad: rain kept crowds down a bit on Michigan...

"see.. and the more weight you lose.. the more chances you will find some hot babe to impregnate with your first born son."

I don't think there was a big baby boom 9 months after Auschwitz was liberated....I'm just saying.... If you lost ten pounds then that just means your woman isn't cookin enough for you. Or you need to eat more than peas... smile

And to answer your questions...(Thanks for the unexpected compliment, by the way.)

1) Why do you need 21 ways to pretend not to be you?

I like to be here but not here....I like to maintain a relatively high level of anonymity seeing as how it's a porn site and all smile And I always try to remember that none of this is real...it's easy to get wrapped up in someone's personality here and think that something could be real. But it can't. It rarely is, at least.

2) What/where are you studying in our fine city?

Marketing and Advertising. I've been in school forever trying to figure out where I belong. I figured it out, but that's a whole other story. smile I wish I could get paid $75k a year to be an arts and crafts teacher. This is tHe closest compromise.

3) "Sticky as lips and licky as tricks": does this mean it's a gorgeous sight to see you eat in the middle of the night?

Yes counselor, that is correct.

4) What, pray tell, is the Truffle Shuffle??

Wouldn't you like to know! Well I suppose you would seeing as how you've already asked...it's from The Goonies. It's a dance that Mouth makes Chunk do.

If you really are a "sucker for needy selfcentered men with levels of self esteem bordering on delusional. I listen too much. That's the thing. I listen and they just never shut the fuck up," try dating a trial lawyer.

Uh, okay. smile all this time I thought Doctors and tattoo artists were the key target.... If I dated a lawyer I'd want to help too much. I'm sure that would piss him off. Then I'd solve his cases all Columbo style and never get the credit and I'd secretly resent him for it.....Nah, JUSTICE is credit enough.....cheese, anyone?

smile

Have to go to Fon du Lac Wisconsin for Thanksgiving Wednesday night. If all goes to plan I'll be getting out of there no later than Friday morning. I will use all of my mental energy to make sure I don't strangle my sister for moving there.

Went boozing until 3:00 AM last night and took a "nap" after work from 7:00-11:00 tonight. It's now...

I see light at the end of the Philly tunnel, I just don't know if it's an escape or a train preparing to run me over! Regardless I think I'll be done by Friday or Monday at the latest.

Either way I'm getting d-runk in Chicago this weekend. Anyone wishing to join in the festivities, let me know.

Although Ogre and Cevin are creative geniuses, I don't really wanna sleep with either of them.
The stupid Seinfeld term papers are about the show's utter lack of morality, and I've been procrastinating on them, trying to think of what George Costanza would do to get out of it.
Thanks for the animal sacrifices. I'm not doing much besides spontaneously combusting some squirrels.
