I'm presently writing this while I'm supposed to be at work. Ideally, I'd like to be writing it while I'm at work, but we can't all be as cool as MisterSatan I guess. 
This morning, my manager insisted on saddling me with a second person. It's Friday and dead, I said "no thanks" but she went ahead and made the call anyway. As an incentive she told me if I got done early I could take the remainder of the day off. My skeptical nature told me there was a catch, so I decided to feel her out. "Thanks, but I need the money" I told her. She comes back with "It's not like we won't pay you. You can use your vacation or even sick time if you want". That's like taking someone out to dinner on their birthday and making them foot the bill! I begrudgingly declined the offer.
The weather is great right now and it's time to start getting some lifelike color back in my limbs but I'm so white I'm embarrassed to even wear shorts.
I just got paid today and received my tax refund (over a thousand bucks, you have my permission to hate me) so things look pretty good. I figure I have roughly three solid weeks of good fortune until the next sobering incident comes along to balance the scales again.
Updated at 5:43 to add: Looks like I over estimated the duration of my good luck. I got hit with the bill for E3 at 2:47. Icarus has just plunged into the proverbial drink.
