Unfortunately, our culture teaches us that sexual opportunism amongst married people is not only okay, but the road to happiness. Of course, occasionally we see countervailing messages in the news, but by and large if you were to judge our society's collective beliefs from watching TV, what you just described would be considered not only acceptable, but desirable.
