hopefully if everything works out according to my plan you should get this letter on Jan 29, 1999. you have a date tonight with a beautiful girl...a girl you never thought you'd be going on a date with...a girl that will change your life.

I won't spoil anything, but this will be the best first date you've ever been on. and why you chose to wear shorts in January I'll never know.
But before I go on...let me fill you in on me, you, us. It's 2005, September to be exact. I live in Dallas TX [crazy I know]. Daniel is married now [wait...you haven't met him yet - fyi he's your best friend and has been since your junior year] I'm a...well...your a maintenance mechanic at a waste water treatment plant. And life isn't all that great, that's why I'm here to give you some advice.
Before we get to the primary business at hand, becky, lets start with school. You're are going to get the bright idea to be home schooled your senior year...this ends up being an insanely retarded idea. Don't do it.
In march of 2002 your dad is going to have a very serious stroke...this is going to change alot...life will change for everyone...especially misty...don't abandon the family.
In may of 2002 you daniel and justin are going to take a trip cross crountry...this will prove to be one of the best times you have with the guys, and depending on how these words affect you and them...it may be one of the last times the three of you can be together.
In January of 2003 Daniel is going to move to Dallas [maybe] see this is a problem, but lets hold on that for a moment [no need in starting up a paradox this early in the letter]
My main focus is on Becky. You'll probably figure out quickly that she is the girl of your dreams. The song Fur Elise will pave the way for a flood of similaities that the two of you share.
But I fear telling you to much will spoil the fun. The next few years will be on a fairy tale calibur. Looking back on it now it seems like a dream.
But like every great tale, this one too has it's end.
On your way to buy a mountain board with Justin, your love, becky is going to be in a major car accident...you are acctually going to pass the wreck but not see her car cause it'll be blocked by police cars and ambulances. The woman becky hits will lose her unborn child...becky will break her leg and need major sugeries over the next two years, but she will be very troubled by the fact that the driver of the other car lost her child even though the wreck was not her fault. The speed limit on the road will be changed because of this wreck...thats how bad it was. You in tern will not be able to handle all the stress of this event and the events that will follow because of it, and for this reason and many others...you will break up with becky around one year after the accident.
She will get a full ride to a private university in nashville and you will try to run away from your problems in lufkin tx and later move from lufkin to dallas.
While in college she will meet david about the time she meets david you'll realize that you are completely in love with her, but it'll be too late. she'll be with david who will turn her into everything she always said she didn't want to be. And you'll spend 3 years loving a girl that lives 700 miles away.
Something she always said will finally hit you. "you may love me, you may be in love with me, but you don't need me" you never understood the difference back then...but now you do. Now you know that you do need her, and now you know that there is now way you can ever have her.
So you sit at home in dallas and reflect on your "life" and you see how it is nothing like it should be, and you sit down at the computer and write yourself a little letter. You tell yourself that now matter what you should stay with becky...you should sing to her with all your heart when she asks you too...you should eat her stuffed mushrooms evern though you don't like them...you should suffer on long car rides with her parents...you should fight with her when she's mad because she doesn't like it when you go home without fighting, she loves to fight...you should always be by her side when she's hurt or sad, you should be there when she needs you no matter what...
