I found myself working harder than I meant to today at work. And then I got stuck in the middle of a dispute I really don't want to be involved in.
Papa [Rick] is a great guy, but he is very racist. Against who? Anyone who ain't white. He's a good old boy from the country, and that means he hates blacks and hispanics [nigers and mexicans according to him].
Papa is probably the best friend I have at work [even though he's my dad's age], but I don't like people who are racist, so I am kinda torn when it comes to Papa.
[Just to clear things up...we all have nick names at work. Rick is Papa....Gerald in Big Daddy....Ricky is Slick....Rusty is Huff....David is Little Bitch or Jiffy Lube....I'm Goat....and Barry is, well Barry is Barry cause no one likes him]
So, anywho. Papa wants to get Juan fired [you can figure out why from his name]. Juan is a good guy, I like him alot. He has a big family so the last thing I want is for him to get fired. [plus he has a record so it's hard for him to get jobs]
However, Juan has been working overtime...Telling Huff that he is taking care some things that are in my area, only he's not. He's just waiting till the supervisors go home then he just drives around in his truck till 6:00. I'm ok with that. Hey fuck the system good for you. So I have been taking care of the section that he is telling Huff that he is doing. Juan sees me doing this one day and tells me [jokingly] hey man, don't do that, you'll take away my overtime.
Papa was talking about Juan, so I brought up this conversation, just to make conversation. Papa then told Huff [our supervisor] about the whole thing, so now juan is going to get in trouble [possibly fired] because of what he's been doing, but also because of what he said to me.
Now it's juan's problem if he get's in trouble for not working while in overtime, that's his own dumbass fault, but now they're puling me into this asking me about everything he's ever said to me, I don't want to tell them anything because I don't want Juan to get into trouble, but if I keep quiet it'll be my ass. And I don't know Juan well enough to take the fall for him, plus I really need this job.
I hate bullshit drama at work. It makes it like highschool.
