My mother is in hospital with a serious blood infection. Because of high covid numbers, I can't see her. Because of her poor health, I can't call her. I feel helpless, scared, and everything feels empty and alone. I'm an only child, the decisions are mine to make, to fail. Everyone, hug your mother. Tell them you love them.

Well, my mom is improving, hopefully only one more week in hospital.. then three to four weeks in a care facility before she can go home.

To whom follows, my mom is still in the hospital. She has already had two surgeries, including one to remove an abscess on her spine. She was showing signs of getting better, but sounded very confused tonight. To make it harder, she asked if she can come home.
