Just when I thought the work on LDE(X) was getting to a stable point, I uncovered a couple of critical bugs. Now all I have to do is get beta 2 tested (again), cram on C/C++ and Windows API programming and start digesting, documenting and hacking on the LS source.

:passes out:

On a completely different note: drop the thing about changing the news wire title.

I realize that people get accused of editorializing and that it's trying and tiring and whatnot. But I turned away from that latest article (those that dropped by the clubhouse will know the one) almost as quickly as I cringe when reading stockula's posts.

The only part of it that wasn't editorial was the quotes. And I use the word "editorial" in a very liberal sense. What I got out of it -- and my rereadings of it -- was that the author was pissed at Clare Short and decided to reply to her in front of an audience.

Bad form. Very, very bad form.

And speaking of bad form...

This is truly, truly scary. Not only because this woman is in dire need of basic sex education, not only because she is in need of professional psychiatric help... but because she's considering this on the suspicion that her boyfriend might be thinking about having an affair.

It's yet another reason to invest in stun guns, bodyguards, surveillance cameras and kevlar body condoms.

Sigh... yeah, some new lows in the newswire. Unfortunately, in both of those cases there isn't much that I could do about them.

I know that I editorialize plenty of my posts, but I usually try to at least back up what I'm saying with some facts. Hyperbole has its place but it shouldn't be a substitute for all writing.

I don't know, my heart hasn't really been in the newswire much lately.
