Busy, busy, busy!
Too much coffee and not enough sleep.
Our battle against the city continues.
Fight the power.

All I can say is Wow! Does SGChicago know how to represent or what!?
It was great to meet all who attended. I'm sorry I didn't get to socialize with more of you. It's sometimes difficult to break out of my shell. Everyone was cool and I can't wait to do it again!
Rock the casbah indeed.

It was nice getting to meet u 2! I know what you mean about it being hard to socialize w/ everyone you just met... I was kind of clinging to the people I already knew.. (ok, person I already knew) and now wish that I had tried harder to talk to everyone (including you.) Damn social anxiety. Anyway- i'm sure there will be future events where the mingling will continue. Thnx for coming!

SGChicago is truly a force to be reckoned with. I pity those foolish enough to oppose us.

A three part documentary about Chicago aired last night on PBS. I have a better understanding of why the city is the way it is now. This city was (literally) built on greed, corruption and exclusion - rather than inclusion.
Yet, I still love it. I'm a firm believer in the phrase, "Whatever doesn't kill me makes me stronger." Plus, I have a naive belief...

As a librarian, I actually get really tired of anything literary. The yuppies I serve try to get too intellectual, forcing me to keep up. There's nothing wrong with a nice coffee table book now and then. Brains need to rest.

people often say this is the most segregated city in the world....hmmm.....

I picked a bad time to forget to pay my porn bill. Spooky was on vacation. Actually, I just changed payment methods so some wierdness had to be fixed. You guys didn't have any wild parties when I was gone did you?

They swore to me there were no copies of that tape! Arggh, my career in politics will be ruined! And I'm still trying to get those pudding stains out of my tu-tu.

I had to go to someone's birthday party on Rush/Division and the cab driver totally stereotyped me! He said "oh, rush and division? party girl, eh? ever done one of those girls gone wild videos?"

And yes, yes I have.

okay, not really. welcome back indigoboy.

New Years Eve is for amateurs. I saw the Violent Femmes were playing at a New Years celebration in Chicago. They've become a novelty act!? All of these 30-somethings were "woo-hooing" for them.
That must be the most horrible feeling in the world. You were once a very popular band. You had hit singles and MTV airplay. Now you're being asked to play a silly...

There are two kinds of people in this world:
Shower people and bath people.
Coffee people and tea people.
Chicago people and not-Chicago people.
(thanks to doughty for the last example)

I would hope that things are resolved. Im sorry that I overreacted to your comment. I felt judged. Im sure I was wrong. In fact I was at a local dive bar last night. There normally is pretty good music on there. Someone played an entire Limp Biscuit C.d. I found myself actually look around the room for you or one of your henchmen, watching to see if I was singing along. I had my friend (the bouncer) reset the jukebox so I didnt have to worry. (haha)
I am however a coffee and tea person.
Ive yet to own a bathtub that I fit in(although I would like one)
I only dream of going to Chicago one day. Of course it will probably be on a tour.
Thanks for reaching out............smile

Random noise from indigoboy's brain:
Mrs. indigoboy bought me one of them fancy Palm pilot gadgets for X-mas (or as I like to say XXX-mas).
My legal battle against the city continues. I am starting to realize how unique a case this is. It has the potential to go all the way to the Supreme Court. Unfortunately, this is a bad time to be fighting...

I'm glad someone started a Chicago group. If only they'd let me in...(anxiously waiting). I'm not familiar with the host, who is listed as being in New Jersey or some such nonsense. I hope a Chicago group will not be moderated by an ex-patriot. I don't think you can effectively host a Chicago group unless you visit Club Foot weekly.
But I digress.
Don't eat...

Ask punkrockwhore where she got her fake ID. (Oh this is fun, I'm already corrupting youth!) Anyway, I'm sure events accessible to the under-21 set will be arranged--though bars are convenient for smaller, informal gatherings.

Oh, by the way, if you're going to br in the UK, you might want to check out the SGUK group--it's public at the moment. Maybe they have something going on.

Greetings.
I added some fellow Chicago residents to my "friends" list. Many of these people I have not met. Call me shallow but I respect anyone who can keep their head above water in this corrupt city.
Merry XXX Mas ya'll.

*I've done a chicago member search and am leaving this message in everyone's journal who's from the area...

You're invited to join SGchicago- a seperate group discussion for SG members in your neck of the woods. Perhaps this will one day lead to some SG representation from the midwest to battle it out w/ the coasts. smile

If you're interested in joining, just click on the groups button up top and submit your name. Simple as that. wink

It's funny because our best friends in Minneapolis have a daughter named Veronica so people are always getting them confused.
The next one is gonna be bigger and badder.
