Weekend was amazing. Friday night at Fibber McGee's was great. I finally had the opportunity to really hang out with my friend Martin's girlfriend, Kristin. She rules. We had the best time just drinking and making fun of the Russian stripper birthday party happening at the table near us while the guys played.
Saturday I had lunch with my dad and hung around his house for the afternoon. We had so much fun just watching tv and later on goofing off in the dollar store across the street from his house.
Saturday night the Boy and I had dinner at Fibber's before he played, then Brandy, Tina & Sarah met me there for drinks. I hadn't seen Tina since before we all graduated high school. She's a fucking archeologist now, just like Indiana Jones- without the fedora and Nazis. How rad is that?
Sunday the Boy and I layed around the house in our jammies just watching movies all day. It was the best. I'm trying so hard to make him a Buffy fan, so we watched a few classic eps from season 3.
I dig him in a far out, happening way. It's a little strange switching gears like this, I know it's not what I claimed to have wanted before. But it's so hard being involved with someone that I've been close friends with for the last 6 years and not let it be this way- I want it this way. The best part is, I really am happy. Happy like I haven't been, in well.....ever. I know what kind of man he is, I don't have to wonder. There's no horrible surprise in store for me later on down the road to leave me crushed. It's weird having total trust and faith in someone, and not having that constant nagging voice in the back of my head reminding how me things are sure to end terribly- especially after what I just went through. I thought I would never be able to trust anyone like that again. And actually, this Boy is probably the only person I could have trusted like this right now. The best part is, I'm really not concerned with how it will end. I know he's going to move away soon, and I don't think I could just up and go with him. We've talked about it a little, and I just don't think I could do it. So for now, I'm just glad that after all the years of being kept at arms length, finally we have right now to be together. No matter what happens, we'll always be close. Miles between can't change that, not ever.
Tonight, the Boy and I are headed back out to Fibber's to compete in the Pub Quiz. It's like a quizshow type thing. I hear grand prize is like, a trip to Ireland or something rad like that. Martin's hosting it, and with the Boy and I teaming up together, we should be able to kick some serious ass. Wish me luck.
