Sculpture by the Sea

An establishing shot of Bondi Beach where this even takes place every year. Its basically a walk from Bondi beach to Tamarama Beach with primarily outdoor sculptures and it is on for a couple of weeks. I went after a day at work on a Saturday and found it quite good despite the hordes of people bumbling around.

So when I started taking pictures I thought this was an exhibit but I think this just some sort of sculpture that is always here

These pictures are some sculptures which seem to represent the common theme that I noticed (whether because it was the theme or because I'm a bit insane is another question) This one is quite blatantly big brother spying on us all

How everything has to be modernised to the point of insanity

The shattered dreams of children

Jumping through hoops

Tanks for the memories (or a great way for people to piss off photographers)

How convoluted humanity has become with all its twists and turns

Taming the wildlife for our own benefit

Big brother is watching you

Humanity melting into nothingness

The devouring

Humanity becoming more selfish

Parental ignorance creating spoiled children doing what they please

The one percent riding on the back of the 99%

The coddling of humanity by the PC squad

There was a better one outside but people kept on insisting on pretending to wear it but similar concept of a big shoe pressing down on the little folk

Strictly speaking there were plenty of other sculptures that had nothing to do with supposed oppression as well as sculptures that I did not take a picture of

As far as I could tell this was the only one to take out a prize. Obviously a better explanation was given to the judging panel. In fact most of the sculptures only had a number, artist name and a title for the piece.

Please sir can I have some more

The most difficult piece of art to take a photo of simply because every idiot was literally bumbling through without a care in the world

tree train

so the sculpture on the beach actually sprays water. I didn't get a chance to test them since the area was laden with children

Dead parrots

man thinking

rapper?

Colourful house or a dog house according to several people walking by

The bell tolls

very seedy man

Took me awhile to get a picture of this too simply because kids were running around unsupervised. Thats the eastern suburbs for you.

Not too sure if this was the exhibit or is this was something that still to be complete

Jesus Christ Super Bomber

I think it is a horse but now i am not so sure

nesting birds

Being different means being invisible

probably the only exhibit I never really understood.

I thought this was a hollowed out turtle but looking at it now I am not so sure

winged dog

silverish baby go boom boom

Much easier to balance on when the chairs are so big

One of the four horsemen

That's a lot of art, thanks for sharing! I like your captions/interpretations. Off topic, a longtime pen pal of mine used to live in Bondi Beach, but I think somehow he never shared a picture - so it's nice to finally know what it looks like.

@kaicito I am not sure I am doing Bondi just with just these pictures. There is plenty more of it, hell the area is quite large and in fact it's about a half hour walk from the station to bondi beach
