Yesterday was pretty fucking rad. Rob and I went to the Bodyworlds exhibit at the Museum of Science and Industry, which I've been wanting to see since it started touring Europe in '99. I examined everything very carefully, and barraged a very nice young lady at the medical information desk with questions. The only thing that tripped me up was the plastinated pregnant lady with her stomach cut open so you could see plastinated baby curled up inside her. Not for any kind of sentimental, sad reasons, but because jesus christ pregnancy is fucking wierd and scary. A BABY GROWS IN YOUR BELLY. Dude, I never wanna have kids.

I was expecting to be really unhappy about all the black lungs, but in fact, the opposite effect occurred. You see, there is a ridiculously disproportionate amount of smokers' lungs there - i think they were kinda struggling to find donors with non-black lungs. This, in my mind, illustrates that smokers are far more devoted to science, and generally better people. Plus, black lungs don't look nearly as gross as you'd think. Cystic kidneys on the other hand, are totally yucky. As are fat peoples' hearts. I think I might even start going to the gym so that my insides look all pretty.
Still though, I don't think I will donate my body to the exhibit. I'm considering it though.

Then we went to see Revenge of the Siths. Now, I was not at all excited about the movie coming out. The previous two, in my opinion, were steaming piles of crap, and I expected to better. But a bunch of my friends were going, so I figured, why not make it an event, because you know, you really have to see it sometime.

(I suppose what follows could contain some spoilers. But um, doesn't everyone know how everything is gonna end anyway?)

Ok, so yeah, the movie was fucking sweet. Though the fighting could have been *even* cooler (seriously, how many hands were chopped off in these movies?), and it's unfortunate that any time a woman is on screen there is either
a. a scene of blissful (but oblivious) domesticity
b. nothing at all. just shots of her trembling, pouty, crying, dead, whatever, face or
c. bla bla bla bla bla bla bla annoying fucking talking.
Seriously, all of the female characters fucking suck. Fine, Lucas hates women, but in that case, he ought to leave them out of the movie entirely, because listening to his female characters talk makes me wanna die. Padme is worst of all. Her character is totally superficial, and maddeningly inconsistent. She occasionally tries to say something meaningful, and you want to fucking backhand her.

That said though, I was on the edge of my seat for lengthy bits of the movie. I had been bitching that the previous two movies didn't inspire any sympathy for the characters, but this one sure as hell did. Anakin becoming Vader is fucking intense.

I think what helped me out a lot, too, in getting on board with the movie is talking to a friend of mine, who pointed out that awesome as the original three were, dialogue has never been Lucas' strong point. His movies are awesome because of the depth of the guy's imagination. You really believe that the world they inhabit could exist. That's pretty sweet.

Anyways, yeah, gold star Mr. Lucas.Gold star for Bodyworlds too. It was a great day. And tonight, the Animation Show!

Let it be known that I'm not "into" apples and apples - I'm tolerant of it.

Seeing Sith today.
