I CAN'T BELIEVE I'M LEAVING THE COUNTRY TWO DAYS INTO TWO-GIRL WEEK. heh heh.
man, so having the boyfriend around all the time really makes me realize that my family is pretty nuts. oh, you'll be thinking, all families are nuts. but i think mine might be especially so.
Exhibit A: Boyfriend's most recent journal
Ok, so I can't think of any more exhibits, so sue me.
But really, it's amazing how inefficient and chaotic life here is. I think a lot of it is connected to the presence of my grandmother, who seems to have a knack for bringing things to a grinding halt. It's amazing, because whereas normally I have zero patience for incompetency and people being slow, here I am like some sort of Zen Master of tranquility. When I'm driving, and we come to 7 Corners (yeah, an intersection where 7 roads meet) I patiently wait to be told which way to go while my mother points randomly into space and says "Follow the cars" (which are going in every which way), finally following the blue car, as requested, until the blue car in fact goes straight instead of turning (which shouldn't have been that shocking, as he was not signalling to turn, implying that he had been secretly plotting to continue going straight ALL ALONG) and I suddenly have to swerve left. No problemo.
Or when we are in a hurry to leave the house, and my grandmother suddenly vanishes into the bathroom for 5 minutes, or decides right then and there to install Norton Anti-Virus Upgrade on her computer (which took 20 minutes), I happily sit right back down and wait.
I miss my friends.

That is the quandry. Though I'm sure good art can be created through and about happy emotions, I have difficulty think of any. I suppose a lot of light satirical work might qualify, like Douglas Adams' stuff, but even then it's pointing out folly.
I actually have Wicked in my endless "to read" pile.
Not thatI care, I'm simply curious, but that main girl doesn't go the full monty in the Un-Rated...does she?
Just curious...
