Okay, this is really in response to the stuff you said in the anticon journal. Do you not think that a story is told in the "artistic syntax", as you put, of a piece of art it self? Cannot information about the artist pesernal expierences be garnered by how she/he handles the form of the art it self? I point to some binary oppositions inherant in the archtypatal westren plot as an example: here, we see a lone gunman come into a lawless situation and "clean it up", against the will of a larger group(indivual against group). This character form, part of the "syntax" of f most american westerns, speaks volumes about the values of the people telling the story. The idea Hemingway-esque ideas of "the strong silent type" and "winning with your back up against the wall" become inherant out comes in terms of the content of the plot because that character archtype, that syntaxtual form, if you will, was used to present the content. You think a lot faster than you write...did you take adderral or something before you wrote that entry? I only ask because I have the same problem.

I want to go bowling, but it's been on Monday nights and I have class at 9:30 tuesday mornings, take into account the two and a half hour drive and I doubt I would make it to class the next day. As soon as this semester ends though I am all about coming down for it.
