I may be very late in asking this question, but where is our revolution?
Am I what the American people have become? Have we forgotten how to stand up and make our voices heard? Why does it take a preemptive answer for us to ask the question?
Where are our sit-ins? Our rallys and marches? Our will to change?
What happened to the days when...

A little passion is a wondeful thing, though it is hard to maintain. I like that you have that intensity - like I said, I had some too once upon a time but now I'm just a cynical old dude. But the point is, if no one feels any passion the people who run the country into the ground have carte blanc. I remember when I was in school an English professor said, "anyone who is not a Communist at 17 has no heart and anyone who is a Communist at 30 has no head," and that is (a) true and (b) sad.

I've believed for awhile now that the decline and eventual fall of the American Empire may well be an ADD version of the decline and fall of the Roman Empire, complete with Muslim extremists playing the roll of the Mongol hordes. The decline of morals in the West has been ongoing for 100 years (not that I'm complaining, just taking note) and the will to defend itself from enemies (real, not imagined) has never been the same since we came out of World War II as the world's saviors (starting with the ill-advised domino theory-fueled wars in Korea and Viet Nam). When we really were attacked in 2001 our President, the Vice-President and the Defense Secretary decided to retaliate by going after the guy who thumbed his nose at the President's dad instead of bringing the real culprits to justice, and of course after too long that entire debacle became the end-all and be-all of the administration (while the true bad guys continue to elude us). Bin-Laden understood that we lack the resolve to maintain an extended conflict and would eventually lose interest and go back to what we were doing (or not doing), at which point he would likely plan another attack. It's a sad downward cycle and we don't seem to have the ability or the strength to correct it.
So, when I left NY I was replaced within my "group" of friends by somebody else, whom I've never met. He was in the army and everybody called him "Cowboy".
He died a yesterday in a roadside bombing in Iraq, and I understand everybody ELSES feelings about this. But I did not know him. Now I'm getting phone calls and e-mails from people I haven't...

Like may attract but like you said I had for gotten about opposites attracting too. Makes perfect sense. Hopefully i can at least get a balance of giving and needy people one day.
Death to me is nothing but a beginning of something new.A transition of atoms. When I die I will go back to the ether where all life comes from and be reborn into something else.
