I checked in this week and found I had twenty or so new followers! Thank you, dear new followers. To you I give a hearty welcome!
This weeks blog topic is asking us to talk about our pets. For those of you who are new, I do animal rescue. I always have foster dogs coming and going. At the moment, I have three doxie mixes, two shep mixes, and a mamma pit and her 3 newbie pups. They are so new, in fact, that their eyes just opened for the first time a few days ago. As for myself, I have a wonderful little cat named Bastet and recently acquired a little schnauzer/terrier mix whom I named Daisy-Ann. Yes, I gave my dog a middle name. I'm that peculiar and harmless sort of crazy that does such things. You can see pictures of Daisy-Ann and my cat on my Instagram. My Instagram consists of two things: myriad selfies and pictures of animals.
It's getting around that time here where it's becoming hot and humid. You know what's not pleasant? Getting out of the shower and promptly beginning to sweat again from so much humidity. What's even worse is that it's not remotely hot enough to warrant turning on the central air. I try to avoid the air conditioner. It's such a drain on the power supply. Unfortunately, it's an evil necessity here down south.
There are also these horrible little green worms that are hanging from thin strings of gooey silk like twisted Christmas ornaments. They float in the breeze and ravage the trees. There are so many of them. I sweep the porch in the morning to get rid of the dead and dying worms, which lay in mounds around the less traversed part of the porch and behind the patio furniture, only to repeat it in the evening, and it looks as if it hadn't been swept in weeks. I take my dog for her nightly pee break and have to walk through a curtain of these putrid little fuckers. They get in my hair and on my clothes. I pick them off of me when I go inside. For hours after I still feel as if I have bugs crawling on me.
These little things are seriously testing the limits of my compassion. At first, they were cute. Now, they're just annoying.
Does anyone else on here enjoy the show 'Rick and Morty'? The first season just ended, but I found it to be hilarious. As you all know, I am a connoisseur of cartoons. I'm not one for sitcoms, reality television, or those hour long CSI like crime dramas. I like the detachment from reality that cartoons have to offer. My reality is real enough, I don't need some scripted 'reality' to compare it to. My mind is morbid enough. I don't need a creeptastic crime drama to follow. And sitcoms are just too predictable.
Anyway, in one of the episodes they used one of my favorite bands, Mazzy Star, in their closing montage. It's amazing.
I know it's over four minutes long, but just fucking watch it, okay?
You can see my butt in that picture. I know you people around here enjoy such things!
Also, you know what's awesome? Getting told I look 22 when I am almost 32. I count that as a win.
