I have a week of Ballet's Nutcracker starting on Monday ... other than that, just a concert or two ... It slows down like this every year for us. So I pretty much plan for it, some of us call it "Vacation Time" ... if you are smart enough to save $ and book early ...
was on the phone with the IRS, and 3-Way called an employer, whom I got paid from today ... and didn't get the notice that my Levy was satisfied ... back in JULY!!!
only to find out that Payroll was at lunch!!!
now 1/2 my check is being sent to the IRS, and I will have to wait about 3-4 weeks to get it back!... Read More

pretty much everything was on wheels, ... carts, hampers, gondolas ... we even had to fork 3/4 of it onto the truck.
but the shit is HEAVY, and doesn't roll easy. Some pieces had to be pulled up a 6% grade out of the Theater by winch, onto a flatbed Tow-Truck, then taken out to the street, onto a flatbed trailer, and pushed into the Traveling Trailer ... pics tomorrow when I upload them
We had 2 teams of 6 truckloaders ... average about 1 1/2 hrs per trailer ... but the shuffle of trailers was what took the time. (I think I have some pics of the "dock" situation ... WAIT! ... there is no DOCK! )
and yes, with the team, ... we all know how to 4-Man lift a box/case, by the corner ... it's just the long hours that can kill you
... not to mention ... this was a 32 show run, in 4 weeks ... 8 shows a week, 6 days a week ... I have had only Mondays off, in the past month ... I even turned down work, Dispatch called me to work, Twice!, on those Mondays ...
and yes ... living in LV ... I was not doing as well, as I am here, now ... being gone for 5 years, and paying my Union dues - keeping my Seniority - moving back was a smart move. I just wished LV was "The Entertainment Capitol of the World", as it's advertised to be ...
I agree, it's not the early starts it's the long hours... why is this not considered when shows are booked... did a 4:30 am call and finished at 2:30am the next day... 1 break, and dinner on the fry floor during levels... I feel your pain that you will be feeling tomorrow...
5 more shows!
2 today
2 tomorrow
1 on Sunday ... but I go in at 8 am to unload a truck of cases, show at 11:30, ... followed by a 12 hour load out of 15 trucks ...
Wow!
Waking up from my second nap today ... and my other half says there is a pizza in the oven , as I am getting things ready to maridate the steaks she bought yesterday, saying she didn't know when I was going to wake up ... I said I dont have to be to work until 7 pm tomorrow night!
most of the TV I watch comes from Netflix actually as well. as for the car fluids....well, if you're not sure if they were stored properly, I'm not pouring it into my transmission or brake reservoir. and the oil....an open container is never good! I did keep the fluids I know how they were stored, though....so we have transmission fluid, oil, and brake fluid. most of what I got rid of came from my step-father's father.
So ... I am working the Broadway's "Mary Poppins" as a Dresser.

Not sure if anyone is going to see this, with all the glitches STILL going on ...
Tonight I go and empty 7 of 13 trucks for the Broadway's "Mary Poppins", tomorrow will be the rest. I'm hoping that one person, who was in the trucks with us last week, for the Pre-Rig will be replaced. Seriously, she is about 90 lbs, and can't lift... Read More
I've been busy lately.
I worked the Warped Tour ... again. It was fun as usual ... 14 hours in the sun, all paid and catered. I had the Nintendo/Tilly Stages. They are set up side by side. So as one band plays, we strike the other stage, and set up for the next band. In other words I had about 20 bands... Read More
LOL I'm saying my home is "set-up" for the vertically challenged and watching all +6' of you trying to maneuver in my house would be comical to say the least
I don't work there regularly ... it was just for the All-Star weekend. I get dispatched to work at all the major venues in town ... tonight, I load out the Josh Groban show at ESA
Do you have the Holiday shows starting soon?
After the seventh shot of novocaine I felt the same as B. Cosby was describing. Finally getting the feeling back.
