the return of gratuitous self-portraits? perhaps...
i scowl in your general direction.

lately everything just seems so trivial.

but it's the trivial, the inconsequential, the mundane drops in the bucket that take up the spaces between our great tragedies and triumphs. discount it and the whole thing unravels.

you take for granted the trivial things. but they're holding your life together.

and i know.
things get lost.
people die.
cities are destroyed.
wars are fought.
empire rise and fall.

and life goes on.

you go through your day largely unaffected by these things. it's the small things. the little rituals that attach themselves to us, and our routines, our habits... your morning cup of coffee. your cigarette break. your favorite shirt. your time, divided and distributed to thousands of tiny tasks that make up a day.

that's what life is made of- the mundane, and the disruption of the mundane, and the return to and reclamation of the mundane.

that's it.

love.
-Hyena.

hey, just noticed the sgnc post... didn't realize you're new to the area and might be looking to head out to places. I seem to be on here less and less lately due to work and everything else, but am up for a night out anytime if you just need to go hang somewhere.
Hope things are going better for you,

and occasional moments of spontaneous excitement that make us forget the mundane and briefly and that who's dream sustains us through our mundanity

mundane. mundane. it's a fucked up word isn't it? onamatapoeic (i should never have tried to spell that) but it's a long boring and ugly word that suits it's meaning....

cheers smile
